We are hittin' the BeAcH baby!

On our 4th and final day we planned on playing in the ocean. Of course mother nature had other plans. The wind was blowing very hard. We didn't have any more days of our vacation so we had to go to the beach and hope for the best. Yeah... that did us no good. We visited Huntington Beach 1st. There wasn't 1 other party of people on the whole beach. Not 1! There were TONS of shells on the beach, though. I guess that is the trade-off, good weather=lots of people, bad weather=your the only ones. Christian tried the body board a few times. Since he is so little he just kindof floats on top. Michael on the other hand, well..... he tried it once and then spent the rest of the time huddled in a towel.
Jessica played on the beach searching for shell, as usual. We visited Newport Beach next. Same thing... freezing but we took a side road to Balboa Peninsula. What a neat little beach town. I love the 101 road, Pacific Coast Hwy or Coast Hwy. That is the best for me, riding down the little roads of the beach villages. Balboa Peninsula has a little pier where some historic sites are so we stopped and walked a bit. We happened upon this heron with a fish in its mouth. The seagull was squawking at it unrelentingly. Had to snap a pic.
All in all the day at the beach was, well..... a day in the wind. Then we had to come home. Michael had plans. I love SoCal! Can't wait until my return.

That is so fun that you guys still played at the beach! It is awesome that the kids were still in the water. It looks like fun...even if it was a bit chilly!
