I just wanted to share my story. I have been out of a computer for 2 days now. When everything you do is on a computer that is a really long time. I haven't been able to work because my work files are all on my melted CPU. So what happened? Well on Wednesday I started my Webroot anti-spyware, virus protection scan as soon as I was done working. This is what I normally do about 3 times a week. Well on Thursday I went to sign on and start working and this Windows Police Pro popped up. I thought it was an advertisement that i had picked up somewhere so I clicked on the red box X to close it. Then I went straight to my control panel to remove this from my CPU. That was my CPU's last sane thought. As soon as I clicked that my computer shut down. When I rebooted my desktop was blank. When I would open my task manager everything seemed to still be working. I called my brother Erick (a tech guru) and he did some research for me. After trying about a thousand things and hours after hours of trying to get my .exe programs to come back up my task manager wouldn't come up. So there I was with a melted CPU. It sucked!!!! So I called Erick again and by this time it was 5:00 p.m. and he was off work so he called his manager at BestBuy and asked him about it and if he had every heard of this. Come to find out there had been about 12 computers a day being brought into BestBuy with a few new viruses. Insane. Then the manager said they were all coming from social networking sites like facebook. AHHHHHH!! I visit that site about fifteen times a day! I did anyway. So those of you that connect with me there just know that you will no longer see me there. I am forbidden. All I have to do is look at the receipt for the brand new CPU I had to buy last night. My birthday is just around the corner so it is a kindof early b-day present but dang it I wanted to wait until Windows 7 came out before I got a new computer. I feel sick although BestBuy is able to do a data transfer from my infected CPU. Just a word from the wise, don't use internet explorer as your browser, switch to firefox, stay off social networking sites unless you have a tremendous antivirus and keep your blog updated so that I know what your are up to!!!! Anyway hope this helps someone! Good luck.
Oh- on the good side.... there is a football game tonight Hurricane vs Dixie at Dixie and the NFL started this week. GO CHARGERS!!!!! Michael also started football this week. They only have 5 games so that will be over before we know it. Oh- well. Go tigers!!!!
